“I’m still looking…where are all the Stoner Babes?”

“I’d like to find a truly compatible partner who does not give me any shit based on the fact that I like my reefer.”

“The prospect of finding a date where I don’t have to hide the fact that I like marijuana is a wonderful thing. Dating another pot smoker, wow, that would be cool, right from the start!”

_____

Definitely, dating isn’t an easy thing…

And for weed enthusiasts, who are still dealing with black market stigma, it can be even harder.

Actually, it could be even harder, but not anymore!

For those whose criteria for a relationship includes someone with an equally relaxed attitude about marijuana, fortunately the game of love may have become much easier.

As public attitudes toward online dating and legalized cannabis shift, a new opportunity to openly connect members of the marijuana industry has arisen.

Plant your seed and watch your love growing

high there2

40-Year-Old male seeking fun-loving, adventurous woman. Loves cats, hiking, and smoking marijuana. It might not be the most conventional dating profile, but it’s certainly going to become more common with dating business geared directly toward people who are pot’s biggest fans.

Attention love-seeking stoners! A Denver company has come up with a dating app that might change your life.

It’s called High There! and is designed like Tinder: users create profiles and swipe through the photos of potential dates, except this version is clearly aimed at fans of ganja.

“I hated dating on other sites and apps because as soon as the idea of my cannabis consumption came up—date over. I actually walked out of a date (after paying of course) and said to myself, that’s it,” High There co-founder and chief executive.

The app’s slogan, “You have more friends than you think,” reflects its mission to create an inclusive and open environment for marijuana enthusiasts.

Additionally, High There users can add a 420-character “My Story” to elaborate on who they are and the type of relationship they are looking for.

“It’s a chance to tell why you’re on the app,” Mitchem said. “…It gives users more flexibility, they are able to talk about their love of cannabis or their love of food. It has the swiping capability but adds a whole new level.”

The app launched in February and is free on for iPhone and Android users. So far, it’s already been downloaded by 150,000 users.

In the app’s blog, Mitchem describes how he’s used the app to go on dates where he’s not vilified for enjoying marijuana, and he’s also met new friends across the country who now have a chance to share their stories with others who actually enjoy them.

“Unlike the stereotypes we have all seen portrayed in the media, my connections were kind, smart, worked hard, and some even worked out every day and were parents,” Mitchem wrote, perhaps with a touch of sarcasm.

Right now, High There! is only available in states that have fully legalized cannabis or have medicinal marijuana laws.
